At the Vilnius Summit, they agreed to establish the NATO-Ukraine Council

At a meeting on Tuesday, the leaders of the North Atlantic Alliance approved the establishment of the NATO-Ukraine Council, a new body for cooperation between Kyiv and the Alliance.

The NATO-Ukraine Council will replace the previous format of cooperation between Kyiv and the Alliance - the NATO-Ukraine Commission, which existed since 1997 and worked in the NATO+1 format.

«The NATO-Ukraine Council is a forum for crisis consultations and decision-making, where we will meet as equals», said NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg.

G7 countries agree on declaration on «security guarantees» for Ukraine

At the NATO summit in Vilnius, the Group of Seven countries agreed on a framework document on security guarantees for Ukraine.

The document is entitled «Joint Declaration of Support for Ukraine».

«It is important that we, that is, the G7, and Volodymyr have gathered again today, after the G7 summit», said Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida.

«(The declaration) is open for signature by any country»», he added.

US President Joe Biden, in turn, thanked President Zelenskiy for Ukraine's defense of the world.

During the first day after the NATO summit in Vilnius, the Czech Republic, Denmark, the Netherlands, Norway, Spain, and Sweden joined the so-called «security guarantees» for Ukraine offered by the G7 countries.

Biden: Putin lost the war, but Ukraine will be in NATO

U.S. President Joe Biden said that Ukraine's accession to NATO during the war is impossible, but it will be in the Alliance.

«No one can join NATO while the war is going on, where NATO countries are under attack, because it guarantees that we are at war, that we are in a state of World War III».

At the same time, he emphasized that the question now is not whether Ukraine will become a NATO member, but when it will become one.

Biden also said that «Putin has already lost the war»»and now has «a real problem: how to get out of here, what to do».

Pentagon confirms supply of cluster munitions to Ukraine

The United States has already delivered cluster munitions to Ukraine.

Lieutenant General Douglas Sims, Director of the Joint Chiefs of Staff of the U.S. Army, said this at a briefing on Thursday.

The American military official confirmed that Ukraine had received the cluster munitions promised by the United States, but did not provide additional details.

President Volodymyr Zelenskiy is convinced that the provision of cluster munitions to Ukraine by the United States restores justice in response to Russian shelling with similar projectiles.

US Treasury: Helping Ukraine is the best thing to do for the global economy

Increasing support for Ukraine is the best way to help the global economy, US Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen said on Sunday.

Yellen said a «key priority» is to «redouble our support for Ukraine» in its defense against Russia.

After a visit to Kyiv in February, Yellen said she had seen firsthand the «tremendous difference» that foreign aid was making to both civilians and the Ukrainian military.

«Ending this war is first and foremost a moral imperative», Yellen told reporters in Gandhinagar.«But it's also the best thing we can do for the global economy», she added.
